WATCH: Arsenal star Ozil sends Iniesta into early retirement with mesmerising skill

The Arsenal playmaker is more known for his creative powers than his dribbling ability, but he proved there is more to his armoury than providing assists during the first half in Dusseldorf. Receiving the ball close to the left touchline, there appeared to be no room for Ozil to jink his way past the legendary Barcelona midfielder, but then the 29-year-old specalises in the unexpected.

Transferring the ball from his right to left foot in the blinking of an eye, Ozil left Iniesta for dead and set about orchestrating another German attack.

In fairness to Iniesta, he had already produced perhaps the ball of the evening when his laser guided pass allowed Rodrigo to open the scoring after just six minutes. The World Cup winner is currently contemplating his future and has until April 30 to decide whether or not to accept a lucrative offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League club.

Ozil, meanwhile, has been sent back to Arsenal after being ruled out of Germany’s midweek friendly against Brazil. The former Real Madrid star is next in action for the Gunners on April 1 as Arsene Wenger’s side host Stoke City at the Emirates Stadium
