Transfer news: David De Gea speaks on leaving Manchester United

David De Gea has ruled out a move away from old Trafford this summer.

The Spaniard is currently with his Spanish national team as they continue their build up towards the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

De Gea joined the Red Devils from Spanish league side Atletico Madrid in a deal valued at €25 million the summer of 2011.

However, the 27-year-old has just one more year on his current contract with the Old Trafford side, but the Premier League side are willing to extend his stay beyond next season.

The goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to join Real Madrid all season long, after their effort to sign him in 2015 failed on the last day of transfer window.

He is tipped to replace Keylor Navas as the Galacticos are hoping to strengthen their squad for competition next term.

Meanwhile, reports from Spain according to Daily Express reveals that the European champions are have turned their attention away from the Spanish keeper.

“Usually I’m always calm, the important thing now is to start the World Cup on June 15th,” said De Gea, ahead of Spain’s 1-1 friendly draw with Switzerland on Sunday.

“Is the most important thing. Do well in Russia, have a good role and do things in the best possible way. “Future? I’m happy where I am, happy.

Now, very focused on the national team.” United Manager Jose Mourinho earlier this year maintained that De Gea is one of his best players and he has no intentions of letting him leave anytime soon.

“I see him here – I don’t know what the intentions are of Real Madrid but they should think about another player,” said Mourinho.

Though, Real are still hoping they can land De Gea this summer, but Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is on their radar and may be sold this summer.

The Spanish League giants have also joined the race to sign Roma ace Alisson Becker, who will be manning the goal post for Brazil at the World Cup.

Premier League side Liverpool are also keen on Becker, who reached the Champions League semi-finals under Eusebio Di Francesco this season.

De Gea was crowned United’s Player of the Year this week following a stunning season and he has been incessantly linked with a mega move to Real Madrid.
