#TNDailyDevotional: DON’T RELY ON EXPERIENCE by Bishop Abioye

daily

In Genesis chapter 12, the Bible records that there was a grievous famine in the land of Canaan and Abraham went down to Egypt to sojourn there. In chapter 26, in the days of Isaac it says, “…there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham…” (Gen 26:1). Now, experience teaches that Isaac should do as Abraham his father did, and also go down to Egypt. But the Lord said to Isaac, “…Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee…” (Gen 26:2-3). That is experience versus divine direction. Isaac sojourned and sowed in that land and despite the famine, he reaped a hundred fold in the same year. The Lord blessed him and he became very great until the Philistines envied him. Just for responding to divine direction. You know why divine direction is superior to experience? God knows the future; He sees the end from the beginning.

In Exodus chapter 14, the children of Israel took their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land and they came to the Red Sea. When they saw the Egyptians chasing after them, they began to murmur and complain but Moses cried unto God. And in verse 16, the Lord said to him, “…Lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it…” Moses did as he was directed and the children of Israel went on dry ground through the Red Sea. In chapter 15, after three days journey in the desert, they came to Marah but they could not drink the water there because it was bitter and again the people murmured. Moses cried to the Lord and the Lord showed him a tree, which he cast into the water and it was made sweet.

#TNDailyDevotional: IT TAKES GRACE TO RUN THE RACE by Bishop Abioye

daily

Our reference scripture says, “…Not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise…” You have no reason whatsoever to bemoan yourself because the very thing that looks like a handicap or limitation in your life is the very reason God called you. Men may disqualify you, but if God chooses you, your weakness becomes your strength. God does look for mighty men, rather He looks for the weak in order to make them mighty. God does look for the wise, He looks for the ‘foolish’ (those who are foolish enough to receive and believe His Word) in order to impart them with His wisdom and make nonsense of the wisdom of the world.

#TNDailyDevotional: TAKE STEPS, NO MATTER HOW SMALL by Bishop Abioye

daily
The easiest thing for any man to do is to talk about some beautiful visions and great plans of what he desires to do. Taking steps to actualize those plans is where the real work lies. Proverbs 14:23 says, “In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.”

You can’t tell how much you can do until you start doing it. Your capabilities are revealed only when you take steps. So, start taking steps, no matter how small. Anyone who succeeds in taking small steps is automatically qualified for big steps. Unfortunately many people want to take big steps when they have not succeeded in taking small ones. I am not against your dreaming big, but the truth is, no big dream is ever born in a big way, every big dream must first be conceived, be born as a babe, go from crawling to walking, and then start running before it will eventually fly. So, stop complaining about what you don’t have, do something with what you have! There is always something you can do, no matter how small!

TNDailyDevotional: THE PLACE OF PLANNING by Bishop Abioye

daily

One way to embrace your future and ensure that you make the most of it is by planning for your future. No doubt, you have great expectations for the year 2016. God also has great blessings in store for you but you can’t just assume that things will happen on their own accord, it is your result oriented planning that commits God to direct you to your expected end (Prov. 16:9). That is what enables you to set your priorities; programming the things to be done now, those to be left till next week and those for next month, for a phase by phase achievement of your goal. That means spreading out your objective, so that it can be achieved without stress or strain. So, don’t let life take you unawares! Plan; determine what must be done at every point so that you can get to the next point, because there are some things that must happen to make room for others. With this approach, you will be amazed at your achievements by the end of this year.

#TNDailyDevotional: KEY TO EVERY DOOR by Bishop Abioye

Every door bows to the force of faith.

The walk of faith is usually a walk of triumph.

daily

When faith stands up everything bows down.

When faith goes up every other thing goes down.

Wherever faith turns doors are bound to open.

Any journey embarked upon by faith always end as a walk over.

Faith does what no natural man can try.

Faith opened the door through the Red Sea.

“By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned”. Heb 11:29

At the instance and advancement of faith the walls of Jericho fell.

Heb 11:30

Nothing remains standing when faith stands.
