IMG-20190729-WA0000
The 1999 set of Badagry Grammar School, has announced plans to have its 20th-year reunion.

Amosu said the reunion will not only help “to connect with old friends for business, social and financial leverages but also help rebuild a network of friends.”

Amosu added that the 1999 set will also through the reunion “inspire and motivate the present students of BGS” and also “give aid to those in need among us where possible.”

Ibadan urban fashion week: Developing the growth of fashion in Africa

IBADAN URBAN FASHION WEEK: Developing the growth of fashion in Africa

How does the fashion industry affect development in Africa?

Some significant developments have taken place in African fashion over the last 5 years.

The first of these has to do with perception: African fabrics and fashion items are no longer seen by western audiences and buyers solely as “traditional” wear (which was always just another way of saying what Africans made and wore lacked the finesse of western fashion).

Hand in hand with this has been the increasing use of African textiles and other craft and fashion elements by western designers, such as Louis Vuittons use of the Kenyan Shuke in its Spring/Summer 2012 collection.

Traditional wears are now made in modern ways, which can now be compared with any designs across the world, we as a continent are growing to be a formidable force in the fashion industry and nigeria is a leading force in this category.

With this in view Ibadan urban fashion week is working in line with this project as we seek an Africa as a centre piece of fashion.

Executive Director of The Made In Nigeria Project, Adedeji Alebiosu said; “The Made In Nigeria Conference & Exhibition will pragmatically address Government’s role in the development ‎and support of Entrepreneurs, access to finance, taxation, ease of doing business, and human capital development for small and medium scale enterprises. We will also partner with public regulators and the organised private sector to ensure that MSMEs in the country are bankable and viable enough to access the Federal Government’s floated MSME funds as well as private start-up capital from key stakeholders. The Makoko community is indeed blessed with numerous creative and artistic talents as the inhabitants displayed their skills as singers, dancers, fashion designers, performers and Master of Ceremony. The children also participated in healthy singing and dancing competition with the winners awarded gifts. The competitions were aimed at encouraging local talents within the community.

Relief supplies including clothing, shoes, bags, toys and edibles were distributed in the community at the close of the concert.

The event tagged “HAPPINESS IS FREE” was organised and executed by DownTown Promotion (DTP) along with several volunteers. The event featured guest artiste performances including Okal and Mikel who thrilled the crowd with songs and dances.

The success of the project would not be possible without the help of support systems who arose to the call to better human lives. Many thanks to supporters, volunteers and contributors who brought to life the idea nurtured in silence, helping to bring smiles to hundreds of faces and sharing joy all around.

Happiness indeed is not tied to monetary and socio-economic values. It is freely given, received and shared!

Olamide to serve party food at OLIC 4

Auto Draft

That Olamide Live in Concert, the 4th edition OLIC 4 is locking down Lagos today December 17th is no longer news, but the news is that the first 2500 people to get to the venue will enjoy sumptuous meals courtesy Olamide and Kokun foundation!

If this is not interesting, then nothing is!The initiative and mission to feed about three thousand people is still a shock as this has never happened in the history of concerts or live shows in the country.
