After postponing the final trial for about three hours, the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has commenced judgment for the trial of the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.
The Chairman of the CCT, Mr. Danladi Umar is currently delivering judgment on the motion challenging the tribunal’s jurisdiction to try the suspended CJN.
Umar had earlier dismissed the preliminary objection filed by Onnoghen to challenging the jurisdiction of the tribunal.
He has also dismissed the application by the former CJN accusing the tribunal chairman, Danladi Umar, to withdraw from further presiding over the trial on the grounds of bias.
The tribunal is now delivering judgment on the merit of the five counts.
