ASUU Queries UNIOSUN for non-compliance with strike (Must Read)

The National strike monitoring committee of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has queried ASUU-UNIOSUN for non-compliance with the ongoing Nationwide strike.

In the query memo dated 18th of August, 2017 stated that ASUU-UNIOSUN, has not being fully observing the ongoing strike, thereby the impact of the strike is not being felt.

The committee has thereby called the institution to stop the ongoing rain semester examination or will be sanctioned by the National secretariat of ASUU.

It would be recalled that The Management of the institution, declared last week that despite the  Academic staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike, the students of the institution will continue with their examination.

Among issues in contention includes, federal government breach of the 2009 FG/ASUU Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed agreement on financing grant to state universities, conditions of service, non implementation of Earned Academic Allowance (EAA) and re -negotiation of the agreement.


Other outstanding issues are non provision of revitalization funds to public universities, non release of NUPEMCO operational licence, payment of half salaries to members and government owing universities outstanding N880 billion in intervention fund.
