Gary Neville’s first job as a manager has ended just after four months of his appointment.
Neville’s coaching experience with the England national team didn’t seem to help him.
The former Manchester United skipper, won only 10 of 28 games as manager of Valencia, including a paltry 3 wins in 16 La Liga games. The results had “not been to my standards” or those “required by this club” according to the former England international, and though he wished to stay, he knew the writing was on the wall.
Neville’s last game in charge was a home loss against Celta Vigo, and his assistant manager Pako Ayesteran will manage the club until the end of the season.
