“Take care of the values of the club”: READ Arsene Wenger’s emotional Arsenal exit statement in full

Arsene Wenger has penned an emotional letter as he announced he will step down as Arsenal manager at the end of the season.

Frenchman Wenger has enjoyed 22 glorious years in north London, where he won three Premier League titles, seven FA Cup crowns and seven Community Shields.

He also reached a Champions League final where he lost to Barcelona.

Wenger joined the Gunners from Japanese side Nagoya Grampus Eight in 1996, having previously taken charge of Nancy and Monaco.

He announced his departure from the Emirates dugout by praising staff, the players, the Directors and the fans “who make this club so special.”

Here is his statement in full…

After careful consideration and following discussions with the club, I feel it is the right time for me to step down at the end of the season.

I am grateful for having had the privilege to serve the club for so many memorable years.

I managed the club with full commitment and integrity.
