Ejigbo, Shasha, other communities may experience blackout for 5 weeks – See why

Residents of Ejigbo, Oke Afa, Foursquare, Airforce, and Ire Akari communities in Lagos Mainland may experience power blackout for the next five weeks. This is because the management of Power Distribution Company, Ikeja Electric Plc. has announced the commencement of upgrade on Ejigbo and Alimosho transformers servicing the communities.

According to the management of the power company, the aforementioned areas will witness power shedding for the entire period that the upgrade of the transformers will last.

Other areas to witness power interruption during the period include Osolo, Ilamoshe, NNPC, Oguntade, Orisunmibare, Bungalow and Low Cost.

It should be noted that work on the planned upgrade of Ejigbo & Alimosho power transformers. Work begins today, Monday, October 16, 2017 and will last till Monday, November 20, 2017.

Meanwhile, the upgrade according to Ikeja Electric may lead to increased power shedding to communities such as Akowonjo, Ipaja, Okunola, Olorunadaba, Orelope, Oki, and Federal Housing Estate, Abesan.

The proposed upgrade according to Ikeja Electric Plc. is part of the strategic efforts to strengthen capacity in service delivery.
