Chelsea has made an unexpected bid for Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches, the Blues want to sign the Portuguese international on a loan deal from the German Champions.
The 19-year-old was a breakout star at the Euro 2016 tournament, he helped Portugal to clinch the trophy against France but failed to replicate the form when he switched to Bayern Munich from Benfica for a €35 million, in a deal totalling €80 million, with the additional €45 million depending on objectives transfer.
Sanches became the most expensive Portuguese player to leave the domestic league.
Bayern paid heavily last summer for Sanches, so they’re undoubtedly keen to see that investment does not go to waste.
The former Benfica midfielder makes 17 appearances for the Bavarian last season but failed to register a goal for the Bayern Munich.
The young midfielder was far from being a flop in the pre-season game against Chelsea and he retains plenty potentials and promise.
AC Milan, who is still considered front-runners, is looking at possibly a similar deal as well, and maybe even for two years.
Chelsea will need to face a strong competition from AC Milan who is set to pull all string to sign any of their targets.Kindly follow us on Twitter @TRIOTINAIJA
